Why you should be excited

Berner Rosen is Switzerland's most popular apple, despite being unknown almost everywhere else.

The story of Berner Rosen

It is, perhaps, a bit like being Canada's most respected cricket player.

Berner Rosen is number one among apple varieties in Switzerland. Like cricket in the Great White North, we might not expect a lot of competition for top apple in the land of the Alps.

Ah, but we'd be wrong. Like almost every other nation located in a temperate region, Switzerland does indeed have plenty of interest in apples. And folks there figure this pretty, sweet and juicy apple is absolutely the best.

And who can blame them for their loyalty to an apple discovered in their home country? Such loyalties are among the most appealing attributes of the mighty apple.
